Meet the Pastor

Bio

The Wilkersons

Brad Wilkerson was born in Springfield, Missouri on February 12, 1970. His parents divorced when he was three therefore he experienced the lifestyle of a split home. In 1978 his step-father’s occupation caused them to have to relocate to the North Texas area.

After moving to the Denton, Texas area, Brad and his family became active members of Midway Baptist Church in Aubrey, Texas. There at Midway at the age of 12, Brad came to know Christ as his Lord and Savior. Brad also surrendered his life to the Lord for ministry at Midway when he was 16. These two major life changing decisions came under the leadership of Rev. Kim Beckham.

Brad graduated from Lake Dallas High School in 1988. After graduation, Brad attended Evangel University, Brookhaven College, the University of North Texas, and Arlington Baptist College. He is currently continuing his education in the Religion Department at Liberty University. During Brad’s years at the University of North Texas, he married his High School sweetheart, Sarah Coulter.

While studying at Arlington Baptist College, Brad and Sarah were called to take the position of Worship/Youth Pastor at Heritage Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas. They ministered there for 3 years under the leadership of Rev. Mike Schirle. They had a fruitful ministry there in Abilene and God also blessed them with their first child, a daughter, Haley Elizabeth.

From there God lead them to Seminole Baptist Temple in Springfield, Missouri, under the leadership of Ron Adrian. They ministered there for 5 years as the Worship & Associate Pastor. During their years at Seminole, God blessed them again with their second child, a son, Ryder Payne. In 2001 Brad and Sarah felt God leading them away from Seminole but they didn’t have a clear direction on what He wanted them to do.

They stepped down from their ministry at Seminole in June of 2001 and began working with Rev. David Garrison at the Valley View Baptist Church in Walnut Grove, Missouri, in August of 2001. Their stay at Valley View was only a year but God used that time to really begin to develop Brad, as he was afforded the opportunity to preach frequently and to do a lot of the Pastoral administration work.

In August of 2002, God opened a door for Brad and Sarah to go back home to Midway Baptist Church. Brad accepted the call as Associate & Worship Pastor under the leadership of Rev. John Theisen. God blessed their ministry at Midway as they had been mentoring under Pastor Theisen getting ready for their next step in ministry. Currently Brad is continuing his education in the Religion Department at Liberty University. God is going to use this family in great ways as Church Planters in the year 2008.

Brad and Sarah have a passion for Jesus, each other, their children, and the souls of men, women, boys, and girls. God bless you as you pray for them and partner with them in this endeavor.
